Books I've Written

The Once Upon a Western collection features retellings of favorite fairy tales transported to Wild West settings. Readers will enjoy seeing the characters, plots, and other familiar elements of well-known fairy tales transported into the non-magical world of America's Old West.

This retelling of "The Ugly Duckling" is a non-magical fantasy adventure that involves a dragon's treasure, talking animals, and a clean, slow-burn, friends-to-lovers romance.  It is book six in the Cornerstone Series from Bellator Deluxe Publishing.

Explore the story of Jane Eyre in a brand new light. With prompts for discussions, thought provoking questions, and a breakdown and analysis of each chapter, Rachel Kovaciny brings to the forefront the major and minor themes and valuable lessons to be learned from this classic novel.

  1. Hi, Rachel, I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed The Man on the Buckskin Horse! I'm not much of a western girl, so it was kind of new territory for me, but I had such a delightful time with it. I adored Miss Emma's narrative voice (and the fact that you had an older narrator/protagonist is a huge win with me :D). Thank you for sharing your talent; I will certainly be reading your other books. <3

    1. Thanks so much for your comment, Ruth! I'm happy you enjoyed The Man on the Buckskin Horse so much :-) I had a lot of fun writing it! Miss Emma was an absolute joy to spend time with. I got to write her in a couple of short stories this past year, and loved her all over again! (Those are in Prairie Tales: Volume One, if you are curious.)

I love writing a wide variety of protagonists -- the main character of One Bad Apple is 14, Miss Emma is nearing 50, and the rest of them fall somewhere in between there. So far, anyway!

If/when you read more of my books, I hope you like them too :-)

  2. Your covers are so pretty! So soft and dusky. They remind me of evenings spend reading Little House on the Prairie as a tween and teenager.
