Elisabeth Grace Foley has a new western coming out later this year!  And today, I'm happy to help her unveil the cover for Land of Hills and Valleys. 

You know I've enjoyed a lot of her westerns.  I've reviewed many here over the years, including Corral Nocturne and A Sidekick's Tale (my favorites!).

Cover Reveal for "Dear Author" by Laura A. Grace

I've hung out with Laura A. Grace online for a while now.  She blogs, she's on Instagram, she's on Facebook -- we run in the same online literary circles, basically.

And now, she's written a book.

But not just any book.  Not a novel about unicorns or quests, oh no.

Laura has written a book that is a love letter to authors.  That takes a look at different aspects of the writing journey and encourages writers who might be in one or more of those stages.  It's SUCH a cool idea for a book.  I kind of wish I'd thought of it.  I can't wait to read it.

Revealing the "Dancing and Doughnuts" Cover

Without further ado, here it is!!!!!

Do you love it?  I love it.  It's from the same artist who did the cover for Cloaked and my short story "No Match for a Good Story" and I think it continues the look of my series so perfectly.

What's this book about?  Well, someone's been spiking the apple cider at a Kansas dance hall owned by a family with twelve daughters.  No one in the small town has been able to find the culprit.  A hungry Civil War veteran drifts into town and decides he's going to solve this mystery for them and earn the reward the family is offering.  It's my version of "The Twelve Dancing Princesses," which is probably my favorite fairy tale.

I'll be releasing this in August, and I'll be calling for ARC readers a month or so before the release, so stay tuned for that if you like reading free books before the rest of the world gets their hands on them!  Meanwhile, Dancing and Doughnuts already has a Goodreads page, so click here to access that and add it to your to-read list!

Cover Reveal for "A Sidekick's Tale" by Elisabeth Grace Foley

I've been enjoying Elisabeth Grace Foley's books for years now.  I've read so many of her books: The Ranch Next Door and Other Stories, Left-Hand Kelly, Wanderlust Creek and Other Stories, Lost Lake House, Mountain of the Wolf, and my personal favorite so far, Corral Nocturne.  She inspired me to pursue writing westerns myself, and she's helped me with all sorts of self-publishing questions.  

Well, today I have the privilege to participate in the cover reveal for her latest book, A Sidekick's Tale.  Isn't it just, well, fun?

She's got some advance reviews up on Goodreads already, and it sounds like this story is going to be just as fun and quirky as the cover.  Here's the official synopsis:

Meredith Fayett needed to marry someone before the week was out or she would lose her ranch. It sounded simple, so ranch hand Chance Stevens agreed to take on the job, in spite of his friend Marty’s warnings that it could only lead to trouble. "With Blossoms Gold" by Hayden Wand -- Cover Reveal!

This is my first time participating in a "cover reveal" where an author gives us an advance look at the cover art for their upcoming release.  It's very exciting!  I've already read With Blossoms Gold as a part of the Once collection, but Hayden Wand is releasing it as a stand-alone work on April 2, 2017.

Before we get to the cover, here's the official synopsis:

She never wanted to leave the tower. He never wanted to rule the country.

Nella has lived quietly in her tower in the woods for over a decade. After dangerous accusations drove her and her grandmother away from their village, they escaped deep into the forest where no one would try to harm them. Here are my own thoughts on With Blossoms Gold, which I posted previously as part of my review of Once as a whole:  

This is a Rapunzel retelling with some amazing twists.  For one, the girl hasn't been imprisoned in a tower, she's staying there for her own safety.   And for another, it tackles head-on what it's like to live with panic attacks.  I have friends who suffer from panic attacks, anxiety, and depression in one form or another, and I absolutely loved the way Hayden Wand compassionately described how debilitating these can be, what a real problem they are, how they are not just imaginary things people could "get over" if they tried hard enough.  Also, both of the main characters had wonderful character arcs and truly grew as people over the course of the story, facing fears, sacrificing things for each other, and ultimately learning to understand both each other and themselves so beautifully.
