Tolkien Reminders

Just a quick reminder for you that my Tolkien Blog Party starts one week from today!  You can learn more about it here.

Also, my friend Heidi is gearing up to lead a read-along of The Lord of the Rings starting September 28, which is just a little over two weeks away.  If you've never read LOTR, or if you've read it a dozen times, you're welcome to join her!  I plan to participate myself.  You can read more details about that here.

  1. I will try to come up with something for the Tolkien blog party. Last year I had meant to review some books about Tolkien before the next blog party but it just didn't happen. Next year for sure.

A LotR reread is tempting but I am also reading Vanity Fair in october (for the Victober challenge). Not sure if I can fit in two long books... maybe!

    1. Beth, yay! I hope you can find something to contribute :-)

I keep eyeing the Victober challenge, but I did so many reading challenges/buddy reads in the summer that I got a little burnt out and am sternly making myself do only one at a time right now. Or so I keep insisting to myself.

  2. What if I'm already 2/3rds of the way through LOTR? :)

    1. George, I suggest asking Heidi in the comments on her post about whether she'd be fine with that or not :-)

    1. Heidi, good to know about audio versions! My 10 year old is trying to read it for her first time right now, which is really getting me in the mood for the upcoming reread :-)

  4. Figured out two articles for the Tolkien Blog party last night. They focus more on the movies, since I haven't read the books in awhile. I had no idea what I wanted to contribute, but in the end talked about The Hobbit movies and my love of cinematic Arwen, so I'm looking forward to seeing what others contribute. :)

    1. Charity, those sound great! I just recommended your book about the LOTR movies to a friend last week.
