Greetings, my very dear Bagginses and Boffins, Bracegirdles and Tooks, Hornblowers and Brandybucks, Cottons and Proudfoots.
(PROUDFEET!)
Today is Bilbo and Frodo's birthday!!! And that means my sixth annual Tolkien Blog Party shall now commence.
If you are indeed here on party business, then pour yourself a cup of Old Winyards, Entdraught, or even beer from the Green Dragon if you so desire, and get busy filling out the latest blog tag. Copy these questions to your own blog, answer them there, and then come back here with a link to your post. Put that link in the widget below so we can all enjoy getting to know you and your opinions on these very important matters! Feel free to use any of the buttons I shared on this page to dress up your post.
Tolkien Tag 2018
1. What's your favorite Middle-earth story/book?
2. Do you have a favorite subplot?
3. What's your favorite theme in Tolkien's books? (Can be in one specific story, or overall.)
4. Do you have a favorite weapon from Middle-earth?
5. Would you like to be a hobbit?
6. Do you have a favorite romance/couple?
7. What's your favorite Middle-earth creature? (Can be "real" or "imaginary.")
8. What character do you look the most like?
9. Are there any books about Middle-earth or Professor Tolkien (but not written by him) you recommend?
10. List up to ten of your favorite lines/quotations from the Middle-earth books and/or movies.
Here's the widget for you to add your link to. And don't forget to comment on this post so people know there's a new set of answers to read! The best part of this party is meeting new Tolkien fans.
Now that you've filled out the tag and left your link here, maybe even found a new friend or two by reading their posts... go enter the giveaway! And check back all week to participate in the games and read other Tolkien-related blog posts.

ReplyDeleteSUCH HARD QUESTIONS!! WHY, Precious?!?!?!
Jenelle... because this is the sixth year I've hosted it and I've used all the easy questions?
DeleteHehehe, fair enough :)
DeleteI don't have a blog but I can try to answer something.
ReplyDelete"5. Would you like to be a hobbit?" Yes! I would have a beautiful house full of quaint charm, and I would be very proud of it, and I would never wander or go anywhere else!
John Smith, good answer! I agree.
DeleteIt says "please leave a comment after entering"... I'm assuming that's here? Sorry, I'm new to this, ☺
ReplyDeleteI visited your post, and you seem like a kindred spirit. And may I just say.... I LOVE the name of your blog!

ReplyDelete~Ceci
Ceci, thanks for joining!
DeleteYAAASSS. It has begun. :D How do you keep thinking of questions each year?
ReplyDeleteOlivia... well, this year a few do dovetail with the #HobbitWeek challenge on Instagram. So that helped. And I always keep the last one the same. But mostly, I've taken to keeping a list of question ideas all year long that I can draw from when it's party time :-) And I do recycle questions sometimes!
DeleteHooray! Wow, how the time flies, I can't believe it's been a year since last time! So much fun! :) :)
ReplyDeleteAnna, I know! This year has been a fast one in many ways.
DeleteI don't have a blog so I'll try to answer some of the questions here. They won't be in order or even in one comment, though. :)
ReplyDelete9. Are there any books about Middle-earth or Professor Tolkien (but not written by him) you recommend?
Tolkien and the Great War: The Threshold of Middle-Earth by John Garth
A Hobbit, a Wardrobe, and a Great War: How J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis Rediscovered Faith, Friendship, and Heroism in the Cataclysm of 1914-18 by Joseph Loconte
George, I'm reading Laconte's book right now! Only have 30 pages left, and I intend to review it for this blog party in a few days. It's sooooo good.
DeleteI haven't read John Garth's book, but I've heard good things about it.
I've added my own tag post to the list :-) Still working on visiting everyone else's, I promise!
ReplyDeleteI am posting these on my blog now! I loooooove Tolkien!!! :D
ReplyDeleteGlad you could join us, Lacy! Always a pleasure to meet another Tolkienite.
DeleteCan't wait to do this tag over the weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteMolly Rebekah, sounds good! I look forward to reading your post :-)
DeleteSorry I'm a bit late on joining in, but here is my tag post! http://aramblethroughthewoods.blogspot.com/2018/09/tolkien-blog-party-tag.html
DeleteThe Book Hound's been a bit spotty lately, but the post is up! It's good to have something fun to keep the blog going.
ReplyDeleteRM, sometimes a tag just hits the spot, doesn't it? Glad you could join!
DeleteHahaha, PROUDFEET. :D <3
ReplyDeleteThanks for this tradition, Hamlette!!
(Sorry I'm so late.)
Thanks for being part of this tradition, Cordy! Better late than never, right?
DeleteI just watched the movie so I understood your introduction! Nice one!
ReplyDeleteI am a month late (really sorry about that) and my answers are finally up. I'm sorry I missed the party but I'm glad I could do the tag! :-)
MC, perfect timing, then!
DeleteYou posting here made me realize that wow, I just have never had a chance to visit the last couple of entries. OOOPS! So I'm going to remedy that Right Now. Thanks for joining!
