Top Ten Tuesday: Winter Wishes

Today's prompt from That Artsy Reader Girl for Top Ten Tuesday is "Books on My Winter 2022-2023 To-Read List."  I'm dividing this into five Christmas books I hope to read by the end of the month and five non-Christmas books I hope to read in January and February.

Jane and the Twelve Days of Christmas by Stephanie Barron

Catching Christmas by Terri Blackstock

Silent Night/Holy Night by Colleen Coble

The Mistletoe Murder by P. D. James

A Victorian Christmas by Catherine Palmer

The Gold in these Hills by Joanne Bischof

Come Forth as Gold by Erica Dansereau

The Last Atlantean by Emily Hayse

Beauty by Robin McKinley

The Bell Family by Noel Streatfeild

Have you read any of these?  What's on your hope-to-read list for this winter?

  1. I am loving your list. I haven't read all of my Christmas books on my list either. The Gold in these Hills by Joanne Bischof, I am hoping to get to this one as well. Enjoy your picks.

    1. Thanks, Deanne! I never get to ALL the Christmas books on my TBR... but it's always nice to have some on hand the next year :-)

The Gold in These Hills has so many things in it that interest me!

  3. I am not familiar with any of these books, but Jane's Twelve Days of Christmas and The Last Atlantean sound interesting. All the best with completing all of these and enjoying every single one of them!

  4. I own Beauty (or used to own... not sure if it's still on my shelf or not anymore). I really liked it when I first read it, but I have to admit, I remember almost nothing about it anymore.

    1. Fanda, I've read the first 3 or 4 Jane Austen Mysteries, so I'm really looking forward to this one, even though I know I'm jumping over half a dozen books to get to it.

Just finished Mistletoe Murder, so look for a review of that pretty soon here.

  7. This is a great list. I loved the Jane Austen mystery & have been intrigued by the Colleen Coble ones since you reviewed the other one recently. I have been reading some Austen inspired Christmas novellas by Pamela Aiden & Laura Hile which were excellent and am about to start Georgette Heyer’s A Christmas Party, which is a regency mystery. I also recommend The Mistletoe Countess by Pepper Basham. She is supposed to be coming out with a sequel to that in February, which I am looking forward to as a last minute winter read!

    1. Amy, glad to find another fan of the Jane Austen Mystery series :-) I read A Christmas Party last year -- I don't remember if it was a Regency mystery or not. I've been eyeing The Mistletoe Countess lately -- maybe I'll read it next year!

  8. You’re right; it’s not set in that period ! I hadn’t started it yet when I left that last comment, but just assumed it was because the other books I’ve read of hers were. I’m enjoying it so far. Happy reading & Merry Christmas!

    1. Amy, yeah, her mysteries are all more modern, I think. Glad you're enjoying it! Merry Christmas!
