DeleteOlivia, yay! I look forward to reading it later today :-)
DeleteI am really excited about this! But I won't be able to do the tag until I get back. (I'm leaving for a short trip today.) I hope it's ok that I'll be a bit late in participating. Should be back by Wednesday night.
ReplyDelete~Elanor
Elanor, not a problem! The party lasts all week, so you've got lots of time to fill it out :-) Enjoy your trip!
DeleteAnd so I have posted my answers on my blog. Such a great tag, Hamlette! :)
DeleteCool, Elanor! Glad you were able to join in :-)
DeleteAdded my link...that was a fun tag! Some of those questions were tough, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed it, Marian! I'm still working on my own answers -- you're right, some of them are tricky this year.
DeleteYay! I filled it out and it was sooooooo much fun to answer those questions!!
ReplyDeleteCecilia, so glad to have you join us! I'm glad you enjoyed the questions :-) I'll be reading them soon!
DeleteNot yet sure whether I'll be able to participate this year...but I'd like to, and these questions are fun. :D Hopefully I'll be back...
ReplyDeleteNatalie, hoping you find the time! I would dig reading your answers :-)
DeleteI did it! :D
DeleteYay!!!
DeleteI love this tradition that you have, Hamlette!
ReplyDeleteMy answers are up and I really liked your questions this year. (Like number 7. I have never thought of it before.)
Thanks for the fun!
~Cordy
Cordy, I love it too :-) Probably why I keep doing it, huh?
DeleteI'm working on my own answers to these, and wow, I think I'm getting tougher with these questions as the years go by!
Thanks for joining in :-) I hope to read your answers tomorrow!
I found out about Tolkien when I was in 4th grade and another student loved all his books--she was sort of a cute geek-type. I pooh-poohed the whole thing. Then, when I was 12 I discovered them and loved them. I read the whole of the Lord of the Rings in a week, reading it all day long.
ReplyDeleteJohn Smith, you are way ahead of me! I first read The Hobbit when I was about 15, and LOTR when I was in my 20s. So cool you got that engrossed in them!
DeleteI look forward to this tag every year! Thanks for spreading more Tolkien love across the internet!
ReplyDeleteThanks, RM! I'm glad you enjoy it :-)
DeleteYay!!!! I have answered the tag, and my answer are way better than last year because now I have read TLOR! Thank you so much for hosting this Hamlette!!!
ReplyDeleteMC, thanks for participating! I'm hoping to have time this afternoon to start reading people's tag posts (and maybe finish my own). Gotta finish up today's schoolwork with the kids, though.
DeleteSuperb, right?
DeleteMy tag answers are up! Can't wait for the rest of the festivities!

DeleteOkay, I posted.
ReplyDeleteErudessa, thanks for joining the party!
DeleteThanks so much for hosting this Hamlette! I really enjoyed it! :)
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure, Anna! Thanks for joining in!
DeleteHello! I will be participating (even thought I'm a little late). :-Z :-) Excited!!! XD
ReplyDeleteHello, MiddleEarthMusician! (GREAT name, btw!) You are not late! This blog party runs all week long :-D Plenty of time for you to do the tag (which, I see, you did), enter the giveaway, play games, etc. Enjoy!
DeleteThank you!!! I will definitely enjoy. XD
DeleteEekkkk! Yes!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a blog, because I would totally participate in this... but ah well, I'll do the best I can. ;)
1.How long have you been a Tolkien fan?
Ever since my elder sister read the books aloud to me at 10 years old. (And later that year I think I read The Hobbit.) So it's been almost 7 years.
2. Has your love of Middle-earth affected your life?
Hmm... yes, I would say that it has, in its own special way. I've certainly bonded with a lot of people over it, and I've got to do some awesome stuff because of it (like going to see the movies dressed up as an elf!) and The Lord of the Rings is my favourite story to date.
3. If you had to take the One Ring to Mordor, which character would you choose for your sole companion?
Aragorn, because I know he would stay by me, no matter what, and I would put all my faith in him in a heartbeat.
4. Which is scarier, Shelob or the Balrog?
Ehh... they're pretty equal, honestly. :P Maybe Shelob. I feel like she has more brain and slyness, and that scares me more.
5. Which two towers do you think Tolkien was referring to in the title The Two Towers? (i.e. Orthanc, Barad-dûr, Cirith Ungol, Minas Morgul, or Minas Tirith)
Haha, good question! ;) I'd probably say Barad-dur and Orthanc, since they seem to be more the theme of that particular book.
6. Whose wardrobe would you like to have?
It's a tie between Arwen and Eowyn's! Probably Arwen's...
7. What do you think an Ent Draught would taste like?
Earthy, hearty and heavy.
8. Where in Middle-earth would you like to live?
Hobbiton!
9. Do you have any Tolkien-related opinions that surprise other people?
Not really... I'm a very predictable person, I've been told. :P
10. List up to ten of your favorite lines/quotations from the books or movies.
I don't really have much time to do that right now, so I'll just add one of my all-time favourites that never ceases to give me a warm feeling inside:
"All we have to do is decide what to do with the time that is given to us." -Gandalf
*raises glass in a toast to Bilbo and Frodo*
Gabby, you do know blogs are free, right? You could totally have one.
DeleteYou went to the movies dressed as an elf? That's so cool!
So far, Shelob is pretty much winning the "who's scarier" contest. Which I think is as it should be, cuz yeah, ick.
That Gandalf quotation is one of the best :-)
Just filled out the tag on my blog! It was a blast, so thanks for creating this awesome tag. (And this whole week of fun! I've loved participating, and it's something I look forward to every year now. :))
ReplyDeleteMary Horton, glad you could join up! It's something I look forward to all year too :-)
DeleteUm, I think I accidently posted my name twice. Sorry! :-Z
ReplyDeleteMiddleEarthMusician, I took care of it :-) No problem!
DeleteThanks! :-)
DeleteI'm up there now :) So excited!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining, Florid Sword!
DeleteOooh, I only just found out about this, but I think I'll still do the tag! :) I just found your blog, and I love it!

Chloe, you're welcome to do the tag! Be sure to add your link to the list above when you're done.
DeleteAnd thanks! I'm glad you're liking my blog :-)
Hey, EVERYBODY who participated in the Tolkien party this year! I have a question for you! Would you be interested in me hosting another LOTR read-along? Several of you mentioned that you planned to read or re-read the trilogy this fall, and as you know, I'm using LOTR to teach my niece Lit right now. It would be easy-peasy to translate my lessons into a read-along. Some of what I'm saying with her is similar to my first read-along from back in 2013, but I'm digging deeper into some themes and so on. If several people are interested, I'll put up a post announcing it, set a start date, etc.
ReplyDeleteI think that would be awesome!!! XD
DeleteThat would be fun!!! :D
DeleteWell, once I'm done with the whole "release day" thing about Cloaked, I'll put up a post about it and see if anyone else is interested!
DeleteI'm VERY late to the party, but I got my post up today anyway! Thanks for not minding. :)
ReplyDeleteKara, not a problem! I'll pop over and read it this evening :-) Better late than never!
