This week's Top Ten Tuesday prompt from That Artsy Reader Girl is "Books On My TBR I Predict Will Be 5-Star Reads." I'm tweaking that a bit so it reflects my TBR shelves in particular. I suspect I'm going to love:

The Story Girl was my LIFE as a kid. I still adore it today (and its sequel, The Golden Road). Hope you love it too!

DeleteI read 'The story girl' and 'Wives and daughters' and I love them both. Do you know 'Wives and daughters' is incompleted as Elizabeth Gaskell passed away before she can finished it? But I think it really just needed one more chapter and you can tell pretty much the direction it is going. It's my favorite of all Gaskell's books. I hope you enjoy all these books.

Lissa, good to hear! Yes, I did know W&D is incomplete... but I can be okay with that, as I've read Austen's incomplete books, and one by Hemingway too. I'll deal with it :-) Glad to hear this one is so close to completion it hardly matters.

DeleteYes! It's part of the Lady Darby mystery series (#3) and I loved the first two! They take place in 1830's Scotland. The mysteries have been good, but I love her writing, too...it just flows and makes it so easy to keep turning the pages. If you try them, I would definitely read them in order, starting with The Anatomists Wife.

DeleteDEAR READERS AND RIDERS!! I have never seen a single other book blogger mention this book, but I love it to pieces (it helps that she is my favorite author, I suppose). It's just such a cool format for a book. Marguerite Henry may not have lived to see social media, but this is like a tiny taste of a Twitter Q&A with her, except with longer answers and all the poor quality questions filtered out.
