Here are the questions for you to copy onto your own blog or website any time this week. Answer them there, add a nice button or banner, add the link to that post to the linky thingie here, and then celebrate with a mug of beer at the Green Dragon, or maybe some delicious mushrooms courtesy of Farmer Maggot. Some of these are repeat questions from last year, and some are new -- if you want to repeat your answers from last year for some of them, you may.
1. Who introduced you to Tolkien's stories?
2. How old were you when you first ventured into Middle Earth?
3. Did you read the books first, or see movie versions first?
4. A dragon or a balrog -- which would you rather fight?
5. Who are three of your favorite characters? (Feel free to elaborate on why.)
6. Have you ever dressed up like a Tolkien character?
7. If someone asks you to go on adventure, how do you respond?
8. Have you read any of the "history of Middle Earth" books?
9. Would you rather drink a bowl of Ent Draught or a glass of Old Winyards?
10. List up to ten of your favorite lines/quotes from the books or movies.
Once you're finished, add a link to your post to the linky widget here, and then follow the links to read other people's posts and celebrate with them! And go enter the giveaways! There will be more fun all week long, so please check back or follow this blog if you don't want to miss anything.
Feel free to use any of these banners and buttons to spiff up your post:
You can find more buttons and banners on this page if none of these suits your fancy :-) Please remember to link back here so that your readers can come join the revelry as well!
Woops, nearly forgot to do this tonight! Questions added, link added.
ReplyDeleteHee. I almost reminded you, but then I was like, "Oh, she'll have the weekend to join in yet."
DeleteI would just like to thank you for livening up my otherwise dull and dreary workday. :D
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteSo, if I post this on Saturday, I should still be able to join the blog party and giveaway, right?
ReplyDelete-James
Yup! The giveaway ends at 11:59pm Saturday night.
DeleteThank you for doing this wonderful blog party again! I had so much fun filling out the tag :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating! I hope you're having fun :-)
DeleteThanks for hosting this splendiferous party! I have been looking forward to it for a while and it is as amazing as I could ever have imagined!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm so glad you're enjoying it :-) I look forward to reading your post soon!
DeleteYay! I've got mine up...(after numerous and sundry adventures involving switching between computers ;-)). but it's all up and recognizable--and I'm so thrilled!
ReplyDeleteSweet! I'll be checking it out soon :-) Possibly later today, depending on how I feel!
DeleteYay! Posted mine - now off to check out the others! :)
ReplyDeleteShiny! I look forward to reading it. Thanks for joining the party!
DeleteHey! Just finished answering your questions. The most rewarding part was filling in the quotes section. Usually I absolutely hate it when people ask me what my number one favourite book is - "I don't know, I have about 50!" But when I had a flick through the books to try to pick out favourite quotes I couldn't get over just how beautiful Tolkien's writing is. The LOTR could very well be my favourite book! :) It's definitely in the top five at least!
ReplyDelete"Favorite" is a fun thing to me, but I know other people who really just have trouble deciding. And I have like a top ten, and then a zillion other books I love too.
DeleteThe quotes is my favorite part too -- that's why I expanded it from up to 5 to up to 10 this year. I love finding ones I love, and reading all the other ones other people share.
While I can't participate this year, I wanted to say thanks for hosting this as I really enjoyed reading many of the different posts linked above! I only just watched Lord of the Rings this summer and still need to read the books but it's nice to finally be in on the hype. :P

I do plan to host this again next year, so I hope you can participate then! And honestly, reading the books is NOT a prerequisite for this party -- seeing the movies is totally good enough :-)
