I also see Sam as the real hero of the story -- and gets to enjoy the fruits of his labor eventually, too, living happily for many years in the world he helped save.Hamlette (Rachel)https://www.blogger.com/profile/11961916847426233995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5587150608901957801.post-45563463843799684622018-11-03T09:42:58.614-04:002018-11-03T09:42:58.614-04:00I so loved Frodo's final words at the end of t...I so loved Frodo's final words at the end of this chapter. I think it is such a beautiful recognition to Sam's help throughout their journey. Something he really deserves because he's the real hero of the story. The repercussions are often more interesting than the event itself.

Plus, I just love inhabiting Middle-earth for as long as possible :-)Hamlette (Rachel)https://www.blogger.com/profile/11961916847426233995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5587150608901957801.post-8162826840899451692018-04-25T09:57:07.435-04:002018-04-25T09:57:07.435-04:00I actually really like that the book goes on quite...I actually really like that the book goes on quite a while after the ring is destroyed. Quite often books or movies end RIGHT after the big climax and I'm left sitting: wait, but what happened to this character and that character! Not so with LOTR, you know how each of the main characters end up!Birdiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09240886179336298463noreply@blogger.com
