Nicely done.

I don't think you need to apologize, really -- the sensual scenes are clearly not there for mere titillation. And like I said, I didn't feel uncomfortable reading it myself. But I know I have a lot of younger blog readers, and they appreciate a heads-up on content and such. I know I would have felt weird reading it as a teen. But you're not marketing this as YA! No harm, no foul.Hamlette (Rachel)https://www.blogger.com/profile/11961916847426233995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5587150608901957801.post-12991036830472836212017-11-22T22:52:04.528-05:002017-11-22T22:52:04.528-05:00I think it's a testament to the author *cough*...I think it's a testament to the author *cough* mo and i *cough* that I can have Lovell literally execute someone in the first chapter... and everyone goes on to choose him as their favorite character, my mother included (and she usually hates my anti-heroes!).

I'm a little apologetic now, especially since there's almost no sensuality in the second book... I was going to say it's a PG sequel and then I remembered: oh yeah, there's a couple of murders... so yeah, the book series on the whole may be hit or miss with what kind of content is IN the book.

I do feel a need to excuse myself, though, in case any of your friends read this; the sensuality with Katharine and Arthur and the conversations surrounding them were necessary, for the reader to understand the pressure and society they both lived in; and I wanted to show a contrast between two genuine loving marriages (H&E, R&M) and an 'arranged' / distant marriage (Lovell and his wife). I'm not an explicit writer, but I didn't want to leave it out, either.Charityhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15928012771461206094noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5587150608901957801.post-24569304702100048352017-11-22T18:05:09.134-05:002017-11-22T18:05:09.134-05:00You're welcome, Charity :-)

Not like a hardcore R, but I just couldn't bring myself to put leave it at PG-13. Not when there were a couple times when I was reading it and a kid walked by and I was like, "WHOA, gotta hide that phone..."Hamlette (Rachel)https://www.blogger.com/profile/11961916847426233995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5587150608901957801.post-59797111752944222852017-11-22T17:29:05.989-05:002017-11-22T17:29:05.989-05:00Sure is! *grins*Sure is! *grins*Katie Hannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06818413749107653398noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5587150608901957801.post-80348082688188456242017-11-16T14:10:27.473-05:002017-11-16T14:10:27.473-05:00This is one of the nicest reviews of anything I...This is one of the nicest reviews of anything I've written that I've ever read; and of course, I'm overjoyed you liked it, it held your interest, and you never got lost amid the characters!

I'm noticing a trend; most people seem to adore Sir Thomas Lovell. I guess my love of him wore off in the pages. ;) Good thing, since he'll be in more books! And yes, I am a fast writer. I'll probably have the second book out sometime early next spring.

I'm also cracking up that my book managed to earn an R rating; I can see why, since it does get pretty sensual in places, but... that's hilarious. :DCharityhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15928012771461206094noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5587150608901957801.post-54098237663645648342017-11-16T12:39:33.507-05:002017-11-16T12:39:33.507-05:00YES, you do!
